In Place is a Chrome extension that converts a highlighted coordinate pair on the page you already have open. This page explains what data we handle.

What the extension reads

When you use the context menu on a selection, In Place reads the highlighted text in that browser tab so it can parse a coordinate pair. It may also read the tab URL to suggest WGS84 vs NAD83. Conversion runs on your device.

What we store on your computer

The extension keeps short-lived and remembered settings in Chrome storage on your device (for example the pending selection for the popup, last from/to systems, and copy format). That data stays in your browser. We do not operate a conversion server that receives your coordinates.

Feedback

If you use Send feedback, you leave In Place and submit a Google Form. Those responses are processed by Google and emailed to the developer. The form can include optional contact info, the extension version, and (when you choose) selected text so we can support a new format. Do not paste coordinate pairs into feedback unless you intend to share them.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data. We do not use advertising trackers in the extension. We do not send highlighted coordinates to our own servers for conversion.

Not for construction

Geodetic results from In Place are labeled not for construction. Do not use them for construction or as a substitute for a survey.

Contact

Questions about this policy: use Send feedback in the extension, or contact the developer through the Chrome Web Store listing once published.
